Transforming Urban Transport Infrastructure with Metaverse

McKinsey & Company has predicted that the metaverse economy could reach $5 trillion by 2030. E-commerce is expected to be the dominant engine, with gaming, entertainment, education and marketing in the metaverse also becoming important sectors.

Metaverse-powered transportation will build a digital twin of real-world transportation systems. It includes solving problems like heavy traffic, parking problems, and infrastructure related to transportation. There is a clear view of the issues present in the physical world via metaverse-enabled 3D views.

This will further enhance the operations of various modes of transportation like roads (bus, cabs, private vehicles), railways, air transportation, freight (movement of commodities and merchandise goods in cargos), and intermodal/multimodal modes of transportation.

Holograktor is the first metaverse driven car which will enhance the experience of interaction with the real world. The digital twin technology will help the transport planner to reshape the way people live. In 2020, Hyundai gave the metaverse enabled digital experience with Sonata N Sports car test drive in the virtual space.

Metaverse will remove the physical limitations of customers from manufacturing to movement of goods and services with its advanced technologies. Smart technologies like metaverse will further provide 3D versions of real locations. The problems of parking and congestion can be handled by such advanced technologies.

The metaverse mobility will be the game changer for the transportation infrastructure. The trains, truck and automobiles will be digitally connected to share the data of transit operations. The transport infrastructure can be redefined using metaverse. The quick response to fluctuating demands of transport can be aptly handled.

Infact Metaverse is in nascent stage as far as the adoption and implementation of transportation is concerned. The quick decisions will be made to prevent the operational issues. The transport management system’s success is entirely dependent on use of Smart and immersive technologies.
