GR Infraprojects wins two ropeway contracts worth ₹3,613 crore in Uttrakhand

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) has recently opened financial bids of two ropeway building contracts in New Delhi.

As per the information shared, Gurugram-based firm GR Infraprojects Limited has been emerged as lowest (L‐1) bidder for both projects pertaining to building urban ropeways in Uttarakhand.

The first project involves development, operation and maintenance of Ropeway from Gaurikund to Kedarnath in the State of Uttarakhand on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM). The bid project cost is Rs 1,875 crore. The construction period is 1,460 days from appointed date and the operation period is 15 years from commercial operation date.

The second project requires development, operation and maintenance of Ropeway from Govind Ghat - Ghangaria - Hemkund Sahib in the State of Uttarakhand on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM). The bid project cost is Rs 1,738 crore. The construction period is 1,460 days from appointed date and the operation period is 15 years from commercial operation date.

GR Infraprojects is an integrated road engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company largely focused on road sector. The company has also recently diversified into projects in the railway sector.

In July 2022, Uttarakhand government had approved a proposal to develop 46 ropeway projects under the Parvatmala scheme to boost tourism across the state. In hilly areas ropeway is considered as the most eco-friendly mode of transport.
