L&T wins Rs 391 crores Track Supply Contract of Kanpur and Agra Metro Rail Projects

Lucknow, India (Urban Transport News): Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) last opened the financial bids of the track supply contract package (KNPAGT-3) for Kanpur and Agra Metro Rail projects in Lucknow. As per the financial bid result, Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) emerged as the lowest bidders among the other five bidders.

The financial position of all bidders are as under:

  • Larsen and Toubro Limited (L&T): Rs 391.14 crores (L1)
  • Rahee Infratech – Yapiray JV: Rs 458.44 crores (L2)
  • KEC International – GSC – EMRAIL JV: Rs 464.24 crores (L3)
  • Tata Projects - ATIL JV: Rs 467.90 crores (L4)
  • IRCON International Limited: Rs 500.10 crores (L5)
  • Texmaco Rail & Engineering: Rs 546.42 crores

The tender for this contract was invited on 20th October 2020 with an estimated value of Rs 530 crores and technical bids were opened in December 2020.

The scope of work includes Design, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Ballastless Track of Standard Gauge in 4 Corridors in Elevated as well as Underground Sections of Kanpur and Agra Metro Project along with the supply of fastening systems and associated Ballasted/Ballastless Tracks in 4 Depots.

Now the bids have been sent for the final evaluation by the tender committee. If everything okay as per the tender terms, UPMRC will issue the letter of acceptance to the lowest bidder.

It is pertinent to mention here that Voestalpine VAE VKN India will supply the standard gauge UIC 60 turnouts, scissor crossovers, and check rails for both Kanpur and Agra Metro Rail projects.

The contract for the supply of 17,700 MT Head Hardened Rails (60 E1, IRS-T-12-2009, 1080 grade HH) for Kanpur and Agra Metro Rail projects has already been notified and the bidding process is underway.
