NHSRCL signs MoU with Japanese firm for designs of High Speed Rail Track works

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) today signed a Memorandum of Undertaking  (MoU) with Japan Railway Track Consultant Co. Limited (JRTC) for the Designs of High Speed Rail (HSR) Track works for T2 package (237 km between Vadodara to Vapi in Gujarat state) for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor Project. The MoU was signed between both organisation through a virtual event.

Under this contract agreement, JRTC will provide the detailed design and drawing of major High Speed Rail track components like RC Track bed, Track slab arrangement and continuous welded rail (CWR) forces etc.

The virtual event was attended by Achal Khare, Managing Director, Rajendra Prasad, Director Project, Vijay Kumar, Director Rolling Stock and other senior officers from NHSRCL, Miyamoto Minister from Embassy of Japan to India, Katsuo Matsumoto, Chief Representative, JICA and Horiyama, President, JRTC.

Marking this event as a milestone, Achal Khare, Managing Director, NHSRCL said, "This signing of MoU marks a very important milestone for the Mumbai - Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project. This also symbolizes strong teamwork and association which I am sure will not be limited to the MAHSR project but may also continue for other future projects in other countries.” He further added that “NHSRCL will extend its full support to make this MoU a success.

Speaking on the occasion Shinzo Miyamoto, Minister, Embassy of Japan to India said, “This MoU will strengthen the ties between India and Japan partnership and will also give a boost to ‘Make in India’ initiative. This will also ensure the Transfer of Technology from the Japanese High-speed rail system to India.

Tender for T-2 package is already invited on 29th January 2021 and the last date of submission of bids is 29th May 2021. The scope of work includes Design, Supply and Construction of Track and Track related Works including Testing and Commissioning on Design-Build Lump Sum Price basis for Double Line High Speed Railway between Zaroli Village at Maharashtra-Gujarat Border (MAHSR Km. 156.600) and Vadodara (MAHSR Km. 393.700) in the State of Gujarat and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli for the Project for Construction of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor.
