PADECO–Ardanuy JV appointed as DDC for two metro depots of Bangalore Metro Phase 2

Bengaluru, India (Urban Transport News): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has issued a letter of acceptance (LoA) amounting to Rs 39,400,000 to a joint venture of PADECO Co. Ltd. and Ardanuy India Pvt. Ltd. for providing Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) for Airport Depot at Doddajala and Remodelling of existing Baiyappanahalli Depot for Bangalore Metro Rail Project (Phase 2A & 2B). The LoA was issued on September 16, 2021.

According to BMRCL, both depots will serve the upcoming 57 km Airport Line of Bangalore Metro Rail Project which is being constructed under its Phase 2A & 2B. This line will connect Central Silk Board – KR Puram – Kempegowda International Airport. The Doddajala Depot will be constructed adjacent to Phase 2B’s “Airport Line” to feed the trains for this line. 

Tender for the above work was invited in May 2021 and technical bids were opened in June 2021. A total of 12 firms were participated and submitted their bids. The bidders were AECOM India, AYESA India, BARSYL, CEG – Cuatro SA JV, EGIS India, ENIA Design Pvt Ltd, Meinhardt India Pvt Ltd, Padeco Co Ltd. – Ardanuy Ingeniería JV, RINA SpA – TATA Consulting Engineers JV, RITES Ltd, SMEC India – MM SpA JV and STUP Consultants. However, bids of RINA Consulting S.p.A. – Tata Consultancy Engineers JV was rejected during the technical evaluation.

The PADECO–Ardanuy JV has been given a deadline to complete the work within 36 months (3 years).
