Ranjit Buildcon wins Rs 418 crore Civil Work Contract of Ahmedabad Metro Rail project

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) on 21st October 2020 opened the financial bids of Civil Work Contract Package C2 of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project which was floated in January 2020 to construct a 6.478 km elevated stretch under Phase 2.

As per the result of the financial bids, Ranjit Buildcon Limited emerged as the lowest bidder among the other eight contenders. The financial position of each bidder is shown below:

  • Ranjit Buildcon Limited: Rs 417.90 Crore (L1)
  • Dilip Buildcon Limited: Rs 465.26 Crore (L2)
  • Sadbhav Engineering Limited: Rs 466.27 Crore (L3)
  • Afcons Infrastructure Limited: Rs 506.37 Crore (L4)
  • JMC Projects India Limited: Rs 509.93 Crore (L5)
  • Larsen & Toubro Limited: Rs 515.45 Crore (L6)
  • GR Infraprojects Limited: Rs 530.75 Crore (L7)

However, KEC International Limited and KCC Buildcon Private Limited did not found technically compliant as per the terms and conditions of the tender notice. 

The scope work includes the construction of 6.478 km elevated viaducts and 5 stations from CH. 25467.443m to 31945.443m and 0.679 km elevated viaducts and ramp for depot entry in connection with Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase – II from Motera Stadium to Mahatma Mandir (excluding E&M, architectural finishing and roofing).

The bids now sent to the tender evaluation committee for the evaluation of bids so that the letter of acceptance can be issued to the lowest bidder. Ranjit Buildcon has quoted Rs 417.90 crore which is 11.09% below the estimated tender value of GMRC i.e. Rs 470.02 crore.

The financial bids of Package C1 not yet opened by GMRC where a total of 8 bidders have submitted their bids for design and construction of the elevated section from Motera to GNLU (8.124 km) and GNLU to GIFT City (5.420 km) with a total of 10 stations at Koteshwar Road, Vishwakarma College, Tapovan Circle, Narmada Canal, Koba Circle, Juna Koba, Koba Gam, Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) and GIFT City.
