Bangalore Metro to appoint consultants for various Rolling Stock activities for Phase 2

Bengaluru, India (Urban Transport News): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is in search of General Consultants for carrying out various activities pertaining to Rolling Stock and Signalling for the Phase 2 network. In this regard, BMRCLS invited Expression of Interests from the experienced consultants.

Scope of Work: Selection of General Consultant for Rolling Stock Signalling and PSD works of Reach-6 Phase-2A and phase-2B of Bangalore Metro Rail Project.

Work Completion Period: 89 months

• Date of Submission: 21.05.2021 between 11.00 hrs - 15.00 hrs

The consultant will assist BMRCL in the design, tendering for procurement of Rolling Stock, Signalling systems and supervision during procurement, manufacturing, testing and commissioning stage including technology transfer.

Scope of Work: Consultancy Services for Inspection of Manufacturing Activities Witnessing of Factory Tests First Article inspections and factory Acceptance Tests of Rolling Stock and its Sub-Systems for the Rolling Stock being procured for BMRCL Phase-2 Network.

Work Completion Period: 21 months

• Date of Opening: 13.05.2021 at 15.30 hrs.

BMRCL has awarded the contract (package 4RS-DM) to Chinese firm CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Co. Ltd. for the supply of 216 numbers standard gauge metro cars (126 Nos DTG Signalling and 90 Nos CBTC Signalling) including designing, manufacturing, testing, commissioning and training of personnel. 21 numbers of 6-coach trainsets with DTG Signalling will be operated on the four extension lines of Phase 1 and 15 numbers of 6-coach trainsets with CBTC Signalling will be operated on Reach-5 of Phase 2 of Bangalore Metro Rail project.

The selected Consultant will responsible for inspection of manufacturing activities of Rolling Stock for ensuring the overall quality of production/manufacturing and witnessing of testing of Rolling Stock at Coach Manufacturing Plant of CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Co. Ltd. in Nanjing, China and Sri City India.
