New Delhi (Urban Transport News): The Magenta Line of Delhi Metro, which is considered to be the lifeline of South Delhi, remains a disaster these days. This has caused cracks in the homes of some people in Begumpur and Sarvpriya Vihar areas and they are all living under the shadow of fear. It is being told that the magenta line of Delhi Metro passes under their houses and due to the vibration, there has been a crack in the houses. Parts of some buildings have also started falling apart due to which people are now being scared of life. Colony residents said that when the train passes through this metro line, the whole house starts shivering. The cracks in the houses are increasing day by day.
According to a report of Aajtak TV, the Magenta Line started passing through this area about a year ago. Since then, local residents have been facing this problem. Frightened people have started getting their homes repaired. People say that during which the metro comes out from under the house, it seems as if an earthquake has occurred.
A woman living in the area said that a few days ago a part of the building collapsed as it came down from under the Metro building. Thankfully, there was no one present there at that time, otherwise, the accident could have been greater. With the falling of the roof and the balcony, now the floors of people's homes are also breaking. Things get worse on rainy days. During this time, water starts seeping through the cracks in the roofs.
In this regard, officials from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said that they have received lots of complaint of vibration. After this, the speed of the metro train in these areas has been reduced so that the vibration is reduced. Also, efforts are being made to solve this problem. However, the condition of the houses in which cracks have occurred is currently fine and they have been kept in the safe zone.
Aam Aadmi Party MLA, Somnath Bharti said that Delhi Metro has accepted that there is a rift in homes. Despite this, DMRC has only been reassuring for 4 years. Earlier it was said that it will slow down the speed of the metro between Green Park and Saket. Later there was talk of installing pads in the tracks so that the vibration could be reduced. But the situation is not improving. People in 150 households do not sleep at night. Ever since the magenta line has moved, problems have increased. According to DMRC, IIT Delhi has been given the responsibility of studies. A person has already filed a petition in the Court. The court, local residents and Delhi Metro are waiting for the report.
