GSV and Airbus sign MoU to enhance the aerospace teaching and research in India

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): Indian Railways' Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) Vadodara has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus, aiming to enhance the aerospace teaching and research in India. The MoU was signed at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi, in the presence of Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics, and IT, who also serves as the First Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya.

Airbus, a prominent global manufacturer of commercial aircraft, helicopters, and defense and space equipment, has recently partnered with Tata to establish a C295 aircraft facility in Vadodara, Gujarat, as part of its commitment to fostering the aerospace ecosystem in India.

Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized that GSV will prioritize strong industry-academia partnerships, designing its courses in collaboration with industry experts to ensure that students are well-prepared for careers in the transportation and logistics sectors. This collaboration with Airbus is a significant step toward achieving this goal.

Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, expressed Airbus' commitment to investing in human capital development in India. The partnership with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya aims to cultivate a skilled workforce in India, ready to contribute to the rapidly growing aerospace sector.

The partnership will involve co-development and co-delivery of industry-relevant skilling courses and programs, joint research initiatives, industry experiences for faculty, internships, placements for students, and scholarship programs. It is expected that this collaboration will create job opportunities for students, with approximately 15,000 students potentially being placed within Airbus' Indian operations.

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) Vadodara, established in 2022 through an Act of Parliament, focuses exclusively on the transport and logistics sectors. Sponsored by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, the university aims to support the National Developmental Plans, including the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan 2021 and the National Logistics Policy 2022, across various domains such as railways, shipping, ports, highways, roads, waterways, and aviation. GSV offers multidisciplinary teaching, executive training, research, and collaborations with leading institutions and industries worldwide.

This partnership between Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya and Airbus aligns with the goal of strengthening India's aerospace education and research capabilities while providing students with valuable industry exposure and job opportunities in the aerospace sector.
