Jakarta, Indonesia (Urban Transport News): Teltronic, a leading Spanish communications company, has successfully launched its cutting-edge TETRA system for the Jabodebek Light Rail Train (LRT) in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia. This pivotal development marks a significant milestone in the region's transportation infrastructure and aims to alleviate the chronic traffic congestion that plagues the bustling Indonesian capital. Teltronic's comprehensive solution encompasses a range of components, including network infrastructure, onboard equipment, a control center, and various mobile and portable radio terminals, all designed to optimize communication and operational efficiency.

The Jabodebek LRT, an essential component of the Greater Jakarta transit network, serves a massive population of over 30 million people residing in the surrounding areas of the Indonesian capital. With its initial phase already operational, the LRT system currently comprises three lines, encompassing a total of 18 stations and covering a distance of 44 kilometers. Teltronic's sophisticated TETRA digital radio system not only facilitates seamless voice communication but also enables critical functionalities such as interfacing with the Train Control Management System (TCMS) for efficient telecommand transmission, thereby ensuring the smooth operation of the transportation network.

Teltronic's deployment includes the state-of-the-art NEBULA TETRA infrastructure, boasting intelligently designed components manufactured at the company's headquarters in Zaragoza. This setup consists of the Switching Control Node, which provides essential network intelligence, and a series of strategically positioned base stations ensuring comprehensive network coverage. Complementing the infrastructure is the command and control center, CeCoCo, tailored specifically to meet the intricate requirements of the transport sector, effectively managing and coordinating all users involved in the LRT system.

The company's contribution extends to providing 76 onboard radios for installation within the trains, along with 199 portable handsets and 20 mobile radios for use by maintenance and security personnel, ensuring seamless communication and efficient management of the LRT operations. Speaking on behalf of Teltronic, Felipe Sanjuán, the Business Development Director for Transport, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We are delighted to be part of this transformative transport project in one of the world's most populous cities. Our solutions not only demonstrate our readiness to tackle such challenges but also underscore our commitment to facilitating the mobility of millions of people."

Furthermore, this successful venture signifies a significant stride in Teltronic's expansion efforts within the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, solidifying the company's position as a key player in the critical communication sector. Sanjuán emphasized the company's aspirations, stating, "This project marks a substantial progression in our expansion journey within the APAC region, further establishing our presence as a major contributor to the critical communication landscape in a region brimming with immense growth potential."
