NMRC receives three bids for Noida Metro Extention Construction contract

Noida, India (Urban Transport News): In response to the bids called from the civil contractors for the construction of a 14.95 km metro corridor between Noida Sector 51 and Knowledge Park V, only three bidders have shown their interest in the work.

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) today opened technical bids of contact package NGNC-01 and revealed that only three contractors have submitted their bids. The names of the contractors are Sam India Builtwell Limited, NCC Limited and Shrisay Infotech. Out of them, Shrisay Infotech is not a construction firm and it provides consultancy services for provident fund matters.

The competition is only between two firms because there is little chance to get technically qualified by the Shrisay Infotech. “We have opened the tenders and found three private agencies have submitted their respective bids. It will take us a month and a half to finalise a successful bidder.

The work will start after we get the requisite approvals from the Union government once an agency is finalised,” said Ritu Maheshwari, Managing Director of Noida Metro Rail Corporation. The tender notice was called in May 2020 by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC).

The scope of work includes part design and construction of Elevated Viaduct and 5 elevated stations viz Noida Sector -122, Noida Sector-123, Greater Noida Sector - 4, ECOTECH-12, Greater Noida Sector -2, (excluding Architectural finishing Works and PEB works of stations) from Chainage 0.00 m to Chainage 9605 m of Noida - Greater Noida Metro Rail Project.

As per NMRC, the estimated cost of work is Rs 430.69 crore. It is pertinent to mention here that the Sam India Buildwell had earlier carried construction work of Noida Metro's Aqua Line with Continental Engineering Corporation (CEC).

In last month, NMRC had issued the letter of acceptance to LKT Engineering Consultants for providing detailed design consultancy services for 14.95 km long Noida Metro Extension corridor between Noida Sector 51 and Knowledge Park V.
