RITES, BEML sign MoU to explore Metro and Export Projects

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML Limited) a leading Rail & Metro manufacturer, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the leading Transport Infrastructure Consultancy firm RITES Limited to explore and jointly bid for opportunities in the field of Rail & Metro systems and export of Rolling Stock.

As part of the MoU, RITES Limited will provide expertise in design, engineering, marketing and any other support that may be required for tapping domestic and overseas opportunities while BEML Limited will be responsible for manufacturing of customised Metro coaches and rolling stock.

The MoU will allow both companies to leverage each other's expertise and technologies to optimise operations and expand on a global level. It would enable BEML and RITES to jointly bid and provide the entire spectrum of services from design, manufacture to operations & maintenance for the existing and upcoming Metro systems as well as export of Rolling Stock and related services.

The colobaration will not only create a platform to enable exploration of business opportunities around the globe, but also facilitate knowledge sharing to strengthen respective organisations' operations.

Earlier in December 2019, BEML Limited had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IRCON International Limited to explore and address opportunities in the overseas market by synergizing each other’s strengths for large infrastructure projects in the Rail & Metro transportation sector.

This MoU was aimed at promoting supply of BEML manufactured rolling stock as well as construction equipment for Railway projects outside India wherein IRCON will carry out civil and construction work as well as facilitate design validation and provenness for rolling stock of BEML to address export opportunities together.
