100 percent civil contracts awarded for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train in Gujarat

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The bullet train projects executing agency, National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) today informed that the Corporation has awarded 100% civil contracts for the construction of Double Line Mumbai-Ahemeabad High Speed Rail Corridor in Gujarat. 

"NHSRCL has awarded 100% civil contracts for the construction of MAHSR alignment in Gujarat state (352 km out of 508 km of total MAHSR corridor) including eight (08) HSR stations (at Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Billimora and Vapi) and two Rolling stock depots at Sabarmati and Surat," said the official release.

NHSRCL signed an agreement today with Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) for design and construction of about 8 km of viaduct including a High Speed Rail station in Vadodara in Gujarat for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR C-5 Package).

The agreement was signed by Rajendra Prasad, Director Project for NHSRCL and Mrs. Bhavani Koneru, Vice President (Metro Business Unit) for Larsen & Toubro in present of other officials in New Delhi.

The scope of work under Package MAHSR-C5 includes Design and Construction of Civil and Buildings Works including Testing and Commissioning on Design Build Lump Sum Price Basis for Double Line High Speed Railway involving Vadodara Station, Confirmation Car Base, Viaducts & Bridges, Crossing Bridges and Associated works between MAHSR Km. 393.700 and MAHSR Km. 401.898 in the State of Gujarat for the Project for Construction of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor.

NHSRCL issued the letter of acceptance worth Rs 2,460.88 crores to L&T on January 7, 2022 with work completion deadline 1490 days.

To ensure seamless integration with the railways, the Vadodara HSR station is planned above the existing platform No. 7 of Vadodara station of Indian Railway. With this integration, the passengers will get the comfort of easy transfer between HSR and Indian Railways.
