New Delhi: There is very good news for shoppers of Lajpat Nagar Market of New Delhi. Shoppers will get free e- Rikshaw facility for going to shopping market. Lajpat Nagar shopping purpose market where are more than one thousand shops in the Lajpat Nagar market. There is a large number of customers’ co me for shopping every day here. In such a case, the number of vehicles is at very large number which increases the traffic. To reduce customer owned vehicle in market area road this is great initiative taken by Central Market Shopkeepers Association.
How traffic will reduced: In order to avoid congestion for those coming in the market, shoppers are offering free access to the market by putting them on the e-Rickshaw Metro station. Market associations chairman Gopal Dwar told that the Central Market Shopkeepers Association has taken initiative to get rid of the problem of jam every day for customers and shopkeepers. This will provide a lot of relief to the people and the entire market will be free of jam.
At present stage 9 e-rickshaws will start and later 6 more will come soon. Gopal Dawar said that this initiative has already started with 9 e-rickshaws and will be rolled out soon in 6 more e-rickshaw markets. For this, all the shopkeepers are purchasing e-rickshaw through their own money. He said that one purpose of e-rickshaw is to get rid of the entire area pollution free. As the number of vehicles coming here are in much higher numbers. Which has increased the pollution level at very high stage, so that there will be reduction pollution will occur by putting e-rickshaw.
Traffic jam is one of the big issues of sub urban and urban cities in India. As per 2010 report of Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) the average peak speed in Delhi was 27.7 km/hr and off-peak was 30.8 km/hr. This is initiative towards reduction of traffic congestion which will be helpful at larger scale.
