Ghaziabad (Urban Transport News): The District Magistrate of Ghaziabad Ritu Maheshwari has conducted a review meeting with the officers on Tuesday for the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor proposed from Delhi to Meerut via Ghaziabad. Meanwhile, Maheshwari expressed anger at the officials on the slow working of this project. She asked the officers to complete the tasks related to project expeditiously. She asked the officers to speed up the acquisition of land, take possession of the land, shift the electricity poles and cut trees for the approval already received from the concerned authorities.
During this, the officers of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) informed DM that they have to face difficulties in implementing this RRTS project. They said that stations should be made from Vaishali to Duhai up to the corridor. For this, 15470 square meters of land required on the permanent acquisition basis, while 82184 sqm of land required on a temporary basis to facilitate the project. The corporation has asked for Rs.100.41 crores for permanent land.
However, the corporation has not yet captured this land to start the project work. From the Muradnagar Ordnance Factory to Jhilmil Cut, the work of transformer shifting has not been done. The work of shifting land with RRTS irrigation department is still stuck. Shifting of electric poles from Meerut Road to Duhai has been completed. However, the replacement of new pole in their place has not yet started. This work is to be done by the municipal administration. Hundreds of green trees are becoming obstacles in the construction of the corridor, they have not been cut. DM said that all the officers will show interest in this project otherwise strict action will be taken against them if found negligence.
The meeting was attended by ADM Sunil Kumar, ADM Madan Kumar Garbial, Chief Engineer of GDA VN Singh, Municipal Corporation, PWD, Municipality Muradnagar and NCRTC officers of the Irrigation Department.
