Dubai's RTA and Urban Mass join hands to develop Floc Duo Rail Mass Transit System

Dubai, UAE (Urban Transport News): In a groundbreaking move, Urban.MASS and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have inked a landmark agreement to spearhead the development and deployment of the Floc Duo Rail system in Dubai. This ambitious collaboration aims to position Dubai as a global frontrunner in innovative, low-carbon mass transportation, with the goal of not only revolutionizing the city's transit but also contributing to the worldwide adoption of this cutting-edge concept.

The Floc Duo Rail system introduces driverless, electrically powered pods on an elevated track, offering a sustainable solution for urban mobility. With a remarkable 50% reduction in carbon emissions compared to similar urban off-road alternatives, the system aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, making it a pivotal player in global efforts to combat climate change. The partnership with the RTA is strategically aligned with Dubai Vision 2033, emphasizing the role of autonomous and electric vehicles in shaping the city as a knowledge-based, sustainable, and innovation-centric global hub.

Abdulmuhsen Ibrahim Kalbat, CEO of Dubai’s Rail Agency, expressed enthusiasm about the memorandum's strategic significance:

The signing ceremony, witnessed by key dignitaries including Oliver Christian, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and Pakistan, marks a pivotal moment in the journey of the Floc Duo Rail system from concept to reality.
