NEC India collaborates with UMTC to develop intelligent mobility solutions

Mumbai, India (Urban Transport News): NEC Technologies India, headquartered in Japan, has tied up with Urban Mass Transit Company (UMTC) to develop intelligent mobility solutions in rural and urban India in collaboration. The alliance will work on transport-related system integration projects that benefit state governments, local administrations, and smart city projects across the country. And will also provide end-to-end solutions, including planning and development, procurement of fleets, support in funding, and implementation of ITMS (intelligent transportation management systems) for state road transport corporations and other public transport operators. NEC handles a fleet of more than 4,000 public buses and helps in reducing running costs and increasing revenue. Also, it will be profitable for the people in search of consulting services that include planning and selection of the most appropriate solution and vendor. Cities like Ahmedabad, Pune, and Surat have experienced NEC services in BRTS (bus rapid transit system). NEC is presently working on the Kalyan-Dombivli Smart City Project to provide a broad range of smart city solutions. And that includes an intelligent traffic management system incorporating AI-based video analytics. It has also implemented its information communication technology-based smart city solutions for the Hubballi Dharwad Smart City project. For enhancing intelligent mobility, NEC will provide cutting edge information communication technology solutions, such as software as a service (SaaS), mobility as a service (MaaS). Data as a service (DaaS) to enable a seamless, end-to-end multimodal travel experience for both inter and intracity commuters across India. The partnership for intelligent mobility will benefit many sectors of the society, including planning and development, procurement of fleets, support in funding and implementation of ITMS (intelligent transportation management systems) for state road transport corporations and other public transport operators. UMTC is a joint venture company between Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (Govt. of India), Government of Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) and Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Limited (IL&FS).
