Ahmedabad, India (Urban Transport News): The National Highways Logistics Management Ltd (NHLML) has recently opened the technical bids for consultancy contract of proposed Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) being developed near Ahmedabad & Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
As per information shared, a total of firms have submitted their bids to provide consultancy services for the proposed Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system in the GIFT City. The name of firms are-
Tender notice for selection of consultant carrying out feasibility study for Development of Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) System in GIFT City was invited in January 2023 with 180 days work completion deadline. Technical bids were opened on 6th June 2023.
The National Highways Logistics Management Ltd (NHLML), a special purpose vehicle (SPV) of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), is implementing this PRT project.
This proposed project will transport 4-8 passengers in small driverless pod-cars or pod-taxis for nonstop point-to-point travel within the business district, which aims to be developed on sustainable, smart and green principles.
A branch line of the Ahmedabad Metro connecting the GIFT City with Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar is expected to be operational in 2024.
