The company said that it has delivered over 200 electric buses with over 60% market share under the FAME I scheme of Central Government so far. This reinforced its position at the forefront in the electrification drive, leading the bus brand and now the company has bagged the contract for the supply of 300 e-buses to the Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited.
The company said that Tata Motors is the largest in the country and only Indian OEM which bagged the biggest order supporting the Government’s e-mobility drive in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, President, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors, Girish Wagh, said:
We are delighted to have won the largest tender of e-Buses in the country. Tata Motors has been playing a proactive role in the electrification drive, with the development of electric traction systems for Hybrid as well as Pure Electric vehicles. The Ultra Electric buses are indigenously developed to offer superior design and best-in-class features. We will continue to support the Government in their commitment towards creating a sustainable future for India.
The company has imported critical electrical traction components from the internationally known best-in-class suppliers in the USA, Germany, and China offering proven products. The company has tested and validated these buses in various states including Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Assam, Maharashtra and Jammu & Kashmir to establish performance in diverse terrains.
