Indian Railways to launch two new Vande Bharat Trains from Mumbai soon

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The Indian Railways is going to gift two Vande Bharat trains simultaneously to the India's financial capital Mumbai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off both these trains from Mumbai on 10th February 2023. Now both these new Vande Bharat trains can be run between Mumbai to Solapur (Mumbai-Solapur Vande Bharat Express) and Mumbai to Shirdi (Mumbai-Shirdi Vande Bharat Express Train). PM Modi can flag off both these trains from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai. These trains will be 9th & 10th Vande Bharat Express trains of India.

The Vande Bharat Express between Mumbai and Solapur is likely to run via the Bhor ghat (located between Karjat and Khandala on way to Pune) and is expected to cover a distance of around 400 km between the two places in 6.35 hours.

On the other hand, the Mumbai-Shirdi high-speed train is expected to run via the Thal ghat (in Kasara on Mumbai's outskirts) and cover a distance of around 340 km between them in 5.25 hours.

Indian Railways has a plan to launch a total of 75 Vande Bharat trains by the end of the year 2023. Last year Union Budget, Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Seetharaman had announced to run a total of 400 new Vande Bharat trains in the coming three to four years. This semi high speed Vande Bharat train has been completely made with indigenous technology and till now a total of 8 Vande Bharat Express trains are being operated in the country.

These trains are running on a total of eight routes namely New Delhi-Varanasi, New Delhi-Sri Mata Vaishno Devi, Gandhinagar-Mumbai, Delhi-Ab Andaura, Chennai-Mysore, Nagpur-Bilaspur, Howrah-New Jalpaiguri and Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad.

The latest version of Vande Bharat trains can catch the speed of 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 52 seconds. Along with this, all the coaches in this train have been kept fully air-conditioned. Along with this, all the doors of the train are fully automatic. GPS system and WiFi is also installed in the train. At the same time, in the executive class of the train, there are 360-degree rotating chairs for the passengers.

All the Vande Bharat Trains are being developed in Indian Railways' Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai. Former General Manager of ICF Chennai Sudhansu Mani is known as innovator of Vande Bharat trains in India.
