New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has issued a contract order worth Rs 1,989 crore to Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) for the construction of 8-km section between Rajendra Nagar and Patna Junction Railway Station (with 6 underground stations) of Corridor 2 of Patna Metro Rail project. The letter of acceptance (LoA) was issued on December 29, 2021.
This is third contract package (PC-03) of Phase 1 of Patna Metro Rail project. The scope of work under this package includes design and construction of Twin Tunnel by Shield TBM, Tunnel by Cut & Cover, Underground Ramp at Rajendra Nagar and Six Underground metro stations viz. Rajendra Nagar, Moin Ul Haq Stadium, University, PMCH, Gandhi Maidan & Akashvani with Entry/Exits & Connecting subway including Architectural Finishing, Water Supply, Sanitary Installation & Drainage works on New ISBT to Patna Station of corridor-2 of Phase-I of Patna Metro Rail Project.
Tender notice for this contract package was issued in September 2020 with estimated work value of Rs1,958.81 crore. Technical bids were opened in January 2021 and a total of four bids were received by the DMRC. Financials bids were opened on July 19, 2021 and L&T was found as the lowest bidder (L1) and the financial position of each bidder was as under:-
Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) has to complete the work within 42 months.
Corridor 2 of Patna Metro will be 14.05 km long and will connect Patna Railway Junction to New ISBT through 12 metro stations at Patna Railway Junction, Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna University, Moin Ul Haq Stadium, Rajendra Nagar, Malahi Pakri, Khemni Chak, Bhoothnath, Zero Mile and New ISBT.
