Prayagraj (Allahabad)/Urban Transport News: The BJP led Uttar Pradesh Government is planning to introduce metro rail facility in Prayagraj (Allahabad). With the preparations for the Kumbh Mela, the work of Smart City in Sangam Nagar is also running very fast. According to sources, Prayagraj Metro rail in will run on two routes in Allahabad. For this, the survey work will be completed by the end of October. The Detail Project Report (DPR) of the Prayagraj Metro Rail Project will be ready till Diwali.
After approval from the concerned authorities construction of Prayagraj Metro Rail project will start after Kumbh Mela. There is a plan to run a metro rail on two routes covering a total length of 42 km in Sangam Nagar. The first route from Bamrauli to Jhansi and the second route from Phaphmau to Naini. Metro will operate for a total of 42 kilometers. For the convenience of the people, the station will be on every one kilometer. The metro will run on both elevated and the underground route, its survey work has already been completed.
All the surveys related to utility will be completed by the end of October. After that, the RITES will prepare their DPR report. In the next three months, the approval of the metro rail project will be taken from the Centre. After that, further formalities will be carried out. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said in a press conference held on Sunday in the police line that the work of Metro will start after the Kumbh Mela. At present, the City Administration is engaged in preparations for Kumbh Mela.
The Indian Railways' agency RITES has been given responsibility to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) of the metro rail project and the DPR is expected to complete before this Diwali. Bhanuchandra Goswami, Vice President of Allahabad Development Authority (ADA) said that the focus of the ADA is on the works of Kumbh Mela. Preparation of Metro DPR is being done by the RITES. The DPR will be finalized until the Kumbh Mela. After that Metro work will be started in the City. The first route will start work, the decision will be made only after the DPR is ready.
