8 firms bid for Project Management Consultancy Contract of Kochi Metro Phase 2

Kochi, India (Urban Transport News): Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has received bids from eight firms for its Project Management Consultancy contract for Phase 2 of the Kochi Metro Rail Project. The names of bidders were revealed after the opening of technical bids of contract package KBPMC-01 on September 3, 2021.

Tender for Project Management Consultant for Phase-II Corridor from JLN Stadium to Infopark via Kakkanad of Kochi Metro Rail Project was invited in February 2021. The following firms have submitted their bids for providing the project management consultancy services for Phase 2:

• Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL)
• RITES Ltd.
• SYSTRA MVA Consulting India Pvt. Ltd.
• Aarvee Associates Architects Engineers and Consultants Pvt. Ltd.
• AECOM India Pvt. Ltd.
• Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd. (TCE)
• Louis Berger Consulting Pvt. Ltd.
• SMEC (India) Pvt Ltd.

Now, the bids have been sent for evaluation of the contract. Once the evaluation is completed, the tender committee of KMRL will open financial bids of the contract to reveal the lowest bidder. The work is to be completed in 4.5 years from the date of the award.

The 11.2 km corridors between JLN Stadium to Infopark 2 under phase 2 of the Kochi Metro Rail Project were approved in July 2018 by the state cabinet of the Kerala Government. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 2,310 crores. A total of 11 stations will be built at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Palarivattom Junction, Palarivattom Bypass, Chembumukku, Vazhakkala, Padamughal, Kakkanad Junction, Cochin SEZ (Special Economic Zone), Chittethukara, KINFRA, Infopark 1 and Infopark 2.
