CRUT celebrates second anniversary of MoBus, unveils ‘Bus Pathsala’ and ‘MoBus Card’

Bhubaneswar, India (Urban Transport News): The MoBus operator Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) on 7th November 2020 celebrated the second anniversary of the induction of MoBus services in Bhubaneswar city. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has chaired the ceremony and launches 'Bus Pathsala' on this occasion.

‘Bus Pathsala’, is a compilation of five-week-long virtual training sessions conducted by CRUT during the COVID-19 pandemic on soft skills and technical skills. This is the first of its kind virtual training session by any public transport company in the country.

The 'Bus Pathsala' will be shared with various city and state transport corporations across the country. This initiative has been highly appreciated by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASTRU), New Delhi. Chief Minister appreciated CRUT for taking the initiative for the training its crew and documenting its outcome.

Chief Minister congratulated the CRUT team on the second anniversary of Mo Bus and hoped that the venture will continue to serve the people with the same spirit while maintaining the health guidelines for the pandemic.

This training program was conducted by both international and national experts who spoke on vital topics like crew motivation, driving skills, better maintenance practices, passenger friendly approaches, gender & public transport etc.

Arun Bothra, Managing Director, CRUT thanked the commuters for their continued trust in the MoBus service. He said:

The second-year journey of Mo Bus was challenging as well as a learning experience for the CRUT team as we had to continue giving service in time of the pandemic. We thank riders who have trusted in us from the beginning of service and continue to ride with us in the time of pandemic while following the safety protocols.

Bothra said that the CRUT team is very happy that Mo Bus has been able to realise the vision of the CM by providing a modern, eco-friendly and people-friendly medium of transport for the capital region.

“Even though at times the buses had lesser passengers yet the service continued non-stop as the main objective is providing service to the people and ensuring affordable transport solution,” he added.

CRUT has also introduced Tap & Pay smart card, ‘MoBus Card’ in association with ICICI Bank as a gift for MoBus commuters on the occasion of the second anniversary. This new digital payment option will allow a hassle-free and risk-free travel for the commuter. To start with this facility will be available on Route 50 and Route 70.
