NCC wins ₹2,167 crore civil contract for Phase 2B of Bangalore Metro Project

Bengaluru, India (Urban Transport News): Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) on September 14, 2021 has opened financial bids of three civil contracts of Airport Metro Corridor of Bangalore Metro Rail Project, Phase 2B. As per information shared by Metro Rail Today, NCC Limited emerged as the lowest bidder for all three contracts.

Contract Package: Phase 2B/P2/69(a)

The scope of work under this contract includes construction of elevated structure (viduct & stations) of length 11.003 km (including 281.000m of viaduct beyond Phase 2A) from Chainage 0.000 m to 10072.000m and eight elevated metro stations viz. Kasturi Nagar, Horamavu, HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, HBR Layout, Nagawara, Veerannapalya and Kempapura, including 650.00m link line connectivity to Baiyappanahalli, road widening, utility diversion and allied works of Bangalore Metro Rail Project (Phase-2B).

As per BMRCL, the estimated value of the work was Rs 639.95 crores. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-

• NCC Limited: Rs 739.04 crores (L1)
• SNC – CVCC JV: Rs 753.86 crores (L2)
• Afcons Infrastructure Ltd: Rs 842.55 crores (L3)

Contract Package: Phase 2B/P2/69(b)

The scope of work under this contract includes construction of elevated structures (viduct & stations) of length 11.678 km from chainage 10072.00m to 21500.000m and five elevated metro stations viz. Hebal, Kodigehalli, Jakkur Cross, Yelahanka and Bagalur Cross, including 250m pocket track, road widening, utility diversion and allied works of Bangalore Metro Rail Project (Phase-2B).

As per BMRCL, the estimated value of the work was Rs 645.30 crores. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-

• NCC Limited: Rs 747.99 crores (L1)
• SNC – CVCC JV: Rs 760.16 crores (L2)
• Afcons Infrastructure Ltd: Rs 811.16 crores (L3)
• GR Infraprojects Ltd: Rs 858.73 crores (L4)

Contract Package: Phase 2B/P2/69(c)

The scope of work under this contract includes Construction of elevated structures (viaduct & stations) of length 15.011 km from chainage 21500.000m to 36511.000m and two elevated metro stations viz. Bettahalasuru and Doddajala, including road widening utility diversion and allied works of Bengaluru Metro Rail Project Phase-2B. This length include approx 718.18m cut & cover portion in front of Yelahanka Air Force Station of Bangalore Metro Rail Project (Phase-2B).

As per BMRCL, the estimated value of the work was Rs 620.88 crores. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-

• NCC Limited: Rs 680.21 crores (L1)
• SNC – CVCC JV: Rs 692.27 crores (L2)
• Afcons Infrastructure Ltd: Rs 809.11 crores (L3)
• GR Infraprojects Ltd: Rs 826.93 crores (L4)
• ITD Cementation India Ltd: Disqualified in technical round.

Tender notices (NITs) for the above contract packages were called in July 2020 and technical bids were opened June 2021.

Now all bids have been sent for evaluation.
