Cairo, Egypt: Line 3 of the Cairo Metro was officially handed over to RATP Dev Mobility Cairo, during a ceremony that took place at this occasion today in presence of Egyptian Minister of Transport H.E. Lieutenant General Kamel Al Wazir, and the Chairman of the National Authority for Tunnels Dr. Engineer Essam Wally, the French Ambassador in Egypt Stéphane Romatet, and Laurence Batlle, Chairwoman of the RATP Dev Executive Board.
"RATP Dev Mobility Cairo is committed to making Cairo Metro Line 3 more modern, innovative and sustainable, allowing residents and visitors of the Egyptian capital to enjoy improved passenger experiences on a daily basis," said official release.
Wadii BOUCHIHA, General Manager of RATP Dev Mobility Cairo, said:
We are grateful to the Ministry of transport and NAT and we are proud to have been granted this contract for 15 years, with the clear ambition of running it according to the best international standards of safety, reliability and service quality, for the benefit of all Cairo inhabitants.
The Cairo Metro Line 3 serves 23 km and 19 stations and is planned to extend up to 40 km with 34 stations, with a projected ridership of over 1 million passengers daily.
